Simastry ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us when using Simastry:

  • Account Information: Email address used for account creation and authentication.
  • Birth Data: Birth date, birth time (optional), and birth location. This information is used solely to calculate your astrological sign placements (Sun, Moon, Rising, and other planetary positions).
  • Companion Data: Names and birth information of people you add to the app. You are responsible for having appropriate permission to enter another person's birth data.
  • Usage Data: How you interact with the app, including features used and conversation data submitted for predictions. Conversation data is processed in real-time and not stored on our servers.

2. What We Do NOT Do

We believe in being transparent about our data practices. We want to be equally clear about what we do not do:

  • We do not sell your personal data to any third parties.
  • We do not share your data with advertisers or ad networks.
  • We do not run advertisements in our app.
  • We do not track you for advertising purposes across other apps or websites.
  • We do not use your birth data for any purpose other than providing you with astrological insights.

3. AI Disclosure

Simastry uses artificial intelligence to generate astrological insights, communication predictions, and compatibility analyses. Our AI features are powered by Claude, developed by Anthropic. When you use prediction features:

  • Conversation text you submit is sent to our AI provider for processing.
  • This data is processed in accordance with Anthropic's data usage policies and is not used to train AI models.
  • AI-generated insights are pattern-based and should not be treated as professional advice.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Simastry:

  • Supabase: Cloud database and authentication. Your account information and birth data are stored securely using Supabase's infrastructure with row-level security policies. Supabase Privacy Policy
  • RevenueCat: Subscription management and in-app purchases. RevenueCat processes your purchase transactions but does not have access to your astrological or personal data. RevenueCat Privacy Policy

5. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Calculate and display your astrological sign placements.
  • Generate compatibility analyses between you and your companions.
  • Provide AI-powered communication predictions and insights.
  • Create personalized communication guides.
  • Send you relevant notifications about your daily insights (if opted in).
  • Process your subscription and manage your account.
  • Improve and develop new features for the Service.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest.
  • Row-level security policies ensuring users can only access their own data.
  • Regular security reviews and updates.
  • Minimal data collection — we only collect what is necessary to provide the Service.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your data at any time:

  • Account deletion: You can delete your account from within the app settings. This permanently removes all your personal data, birth information, companions, and generated insights.
  • Data export: You may request a copy of your data by contacting us at privacy@simastry.com.
  • Companion removal: You can delete individual companion profiles at any time from within the app.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

GDPR (European Economic Area):

  • Right to access your personal data.
  • Right to rectification of inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten").
  • Right to restrict processing.
  • Right to data portability.
  • Right to object to processing.

CCPA (California):

  • Right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
  • Right to delete your personal information.
  • Right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell your data).
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

9. Children's Privacy

Simastry is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@simastry.com.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
